Join us for a special site visit to the Batik of Pekalongan exhibition and discover the legacy of Oey Soe Tjon, one of Indonesia’s most renowned batik makers.
During the visit, participants will sketch characters, motifs, and designs that inspire them. These sketches will later be transformed into their own shadow puppets through a hands-on creative workshop.

About the Series
This site visit is part of The Magical World of Batik, a series of workshops and creative programs running from August to December 2026.
The series playfully brings together visual arts, performance, puppetry, movement, drama, and mask-making, inviting participants to explore the magical world of batik through different creative forms.
